The Land Trust is a non-profit organization protecting the Island's fragile environment and important land resources: wetlands, maritime forests, and wildlife habitats. The Land Trust accomplishes this work through donations and purchases of land, conservation easements, annual membership contributions, and bargain sales.
The Land Trust spearheaded the design of the master plan for the Island-wide Trail System. The Land Trust envisions a trail system that connects a series of parks and greenspace across the island.
Our membership has grown to 1,200 households across the US since it began in 2000.
